This was a good mystery. It keep me guessing. It keep my attention and I did like some of the side stories away from mystery.

I must say I do not normally give a trigger warning but this book have a couple instances of animal cruelty that did bother even me. I am not bothered easily, but I feel it take away from the cozy part of this book. Also I did not like the description to describe certain people.

I plan to continue to read the series. I am sure for it to go on as long as it have, the writing must have improved.

This would have been a higher grade for me, but I had to take a star away. Some of the events in this book were not cozy and crossed lines. It felt disturbing. If you are looking for a cozy fun Christmas feel type of book with a mystery on the side, this is not your book. The mystery did keep me guessing. I will give it that. Sometimes there were too many details.

I am so happy I came across this series and gave it a chance. I am really starting to enjoy these cozy mysteries. And specially these kind of series. They are so fun and very useful when it comes to reading challenge prompts. I plan to continue this series. I have already read the next two.

I feel the author crossed the line, that makes a cozy mystery cozy, when she let a pet die. Perhaps if she handled it differently it wouldn't have been so bad, but I found it callous and unfeeling.

There was too much going on that had nothing to do with anything, and I got bored. I understand the first book in a series may be a little slow, so the author can set up the characters, but that's not what this was. I put the book down and forgot about it, then today I was looking for something to read on my Kindle and there is was. It bothers me to have an unfinished book, so I finished it off. It did pick up at the end.

I would have given it more stars if it didn't have so many fillers, and honestly, I can't get passed the cat incident.

I love cozy mysteries, and I rarely ever give bad reviews, but the plot was SO slow. This was the first mystery I didn’t want to finish. I was bored the whole time, even at the climax. The ending was too predictable. I was very excited for a cozy Christmas mystery too, and the start of a new series :’). Unfortunately I will not be reading more of this series.

It's hard to find a new mystery series to read! I think I read the first chapter of ten books before finally giving up and reading this one. Now I need to start all over again.

I wish I could have given this book 4 ⭐️’s, but I’ll have to settle at 3. The 90s nostalgia factor was my favorite part of this book and I did enjoy the writing and story. The problem I had was that it was a bit outdated and sometimes borderline offensive. The treatment of animals also put me off. Hopefully the next book will make up for it.
