This book, being over twenty-five years old, was in some ways outdated. At the time this book was was written, several people were still alive other than Lady Diana herself. In a way, in reading it, I felt as if I had stepped into a time machine, and really found myself in 1992. Parts of this was difficult to read; since it came from those closest to Lady Diana, as well as herself, I found myself inclined to believe a lot of it.

The author's vision was to paint a picture of the real Lady Diana Spencer, and not to do a detail-by-detail biography of her life. In that, I would say that Morton succeeded. The question and answer appendix (Could Charles and Diana Divorce?) was odd, given the fact that they divorced years later on 28 August 1996; the author had no way of knowing.

I'm not really sure what there should or could be said about this book. A year after their divorce, she unfortunately passed away as a result of the injuries sustained in a car crash in Paris. By today, the world already knows what would unfold after the release of this book. For one, Prince Charles has been married to Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, for years.

It was nice, interesting and felt fitting to read the story of that part of her life from her and the people closest to her. At the time of this book's release, I was only four years old, and probably didn't even know who she was. However, from '95 till '97, I remember hearing about her quite often, and knew who she was around her untimely ending. I didn't find anything hard to believe.

I really enjoyed the revised structure of this book. Im nit sure it would have been as effective for me as it wsd originally printed. Seeing the transcripts, then book, then reflection on impact was great. It felt like watching the book be conatructed and then dissected. 

That said it did get repetitive and i slogged through a couple of places. I thought some of the writing especially in the afterword as a bit over embellished. 

Morton successfully builds a story that is engaging and easy to read. While not exactly new, this is what I presume all the other Diana media is based off of, so it's not surprising. He does however help the reader/listener realize how horrifying the love for Diana truly is. She was a person, and was suffocated by the people. And even after her death people continued anyway, turning her into a legend rather than a human. While thirteen hours is quite long, it's doesn't feel like it at all. Wonderfully structured and paced.
