100% awesome, 100% of the time. Just when you thought you knew the life of Abe Lincoln, everything is turned on it's head, with science fiction woven seamlessly into a relatively accurate biography.

The book did a great job of weaving a plausible history based on real points and events in history.
It was a fast read and kept pace quite well thru the most of book. It got a little tired towards the end, but did not make for bad reading.
I really enjoyed this "alternate" telling of history and would highly recommend this book.

The book was better written than I had thought it was going to be.
It started off well with Abe's childhood and early years but tailed off towards the end when Abe became more a politician than Vampire hunter.
It's a decent, fast read and overall a good bit of fun

An entertaining story! I know next to nothing about Abraham Lincoln, but it was a lot of fun applying this character to him, a vampire hunter. I was always eager to pick the book up again. Only complaint is that some of the journal passages weren’t clearly attributed to their writer, which was kind of confusing, and the voice throughout entries and newspaper articles was very similar. Ending was fun!

Not my favorite history alternate story, but it had its moments. It was interesting to say the least. It’s still a good read but can get rather tedious at times.

the writing used journal and quoted letters format.
here lies the problem, also, the advantage.
It made the story more, err, believable, as in providing historical facts. But at the same time, it drags.
Made it harder to see the characters of the story unless it's written/told.
The same problem I had with [b:Balthasar's Odyssey|212936|Balthasar's Odyssey|Amin Maalouf|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1327989025s/212936.jpg|2593317]
Although it didn't happen in the first part of the book, the part about Abe's childhood background. The very promising opening.
Yet, the next ones are awfully anti climactic.
See, any title with 'Vampire Hunter' on it obviously would make people hoping for bloody hunts. Especially if you glued the words into a persona like Abraham Lincoln.
But the main parts of the story hardly fulfilled that 'lust'.
It doesn't circled, the previously-hoped actions and/or the character of adult, vampire hunter, Abe Lincoln.
as a fanfiction, it'd work.
as a book, it failed.
So the upcoming movie, I really hope Timur Bekmambetov and Benjamin Walker will made it.
If it isn't..
well, Dominic Cooper playing vampire...

Loved this book. I couldn't stop reading it because of the fact and the fiction together. It was written well!

Started off very strong, but ran out of steam. Would have been an excellent novella.
