This book is the first installment in the Puppy Mudge book series. This book introduces Mudge as a puppy aptly named for his love of splashing around in mud. There is one activity Mudge dislikes more than anything which is bathing. Throughout the rest of the story, Mudge's owner, Henry, must coax him into two baths because of how dirty and smelly Mudge becomes when playing outside. Overall, this is a great book to use to establish young children's love for reading.
