I've been co-counseling for about 8 years now, but for most of that time have avoided reading the literature. In the last year I've started reading the magazine Present Time and some specific pamphlets and have enjoyed doing so, but for some reason still wasn't really interested in reading anything by Harvey Jackins. Then earlier this year my best friend took an RC fundamentals class and read The Human Side of Human Beings. Ben doesn't really do much reading of print media, so I felt like I had to take the plunge. So far the book is OK. I think the practice and the literature that is more specific to aspects of co-counseling theory and practice are more interesting than this primer type book.
