I was a big fan of the X-Man character when his solo series was being published, ever since he was introduced in he Age of Apocalypse story line. This collection is from the time when Marvel started a new direction in several titles, a project called Counter-X. Steven Grant really injected new life into this character and told some interesting stories during this time, and in return Marvel in it's infinite wisdom rewarded this new creatie direction by cancelling the series. I believe Grant had to cut short his last planned story arc because of the cancellation. At the time they gve the excuse that is character was too complicated (he's an alternate reality version of Cable, who already has a complicated origin) Later Rachel Grey joined the X-Men, because her origin is so much simpler (sarcasm)
