I had started this book several years ago, but never finished it. This time I "read it" as an audiobook. While I am glad I read this iconic book, my attention might have wavered more if I had gone with the print version. Sometimes Orwell can get a little wordy. The first time I read it, I was struck with all of the pop culture references that have originated with this book.

Wordy, slow and read more informational rather than exciting and relatable. But apparently I should have stuck with it because other reviews say part 3 was the good part

The tolitary state the charactees find themselves in is a terrible, possible, dystopian idea of the future. Seeing how rebelling is only achievable by thought and still not safe makes for an uneasy feeling. The whole process of radicalising ones own actions, to finally feel more true to oneself, to then get crushed by torture further into oblivion and absolute obedience is just sad to witness.
