I had SUCH a good time with this. It was fast-paced and a lot of fun. The "who killed my mom" element was fun and I thought the evolution from hate to love was very nice to see. A compelling romance without being sexually explicit (there was like, one vague scene, if you're not into sex scenes, so this was fun for that). The side characters were loveable too. Overall a fun time and quick read.

I love Beauty and the Beast and was looking forward to reading this retelling. It was amazing! Loved it all.

An enemies-to-lovers story, Contessa married 'the Beast' in order to get close to him and gather evidence surrounding her mother's murder. What Contessa found, however, was that nothing was as it seemed, and the people she thought she could trust had ulterior motives.

I loved Contessa and Nate! Both tough when it counted, but they were so sweet together. The other characters were a lot of fun, and great additions to the story. I'd love to know more about them.

I really enjoyed this retelling, with the magic system, the twists, the slow-burn romance. A captivating and well-written read.

This beauty and the beast retelling was everything I never knew I needed, and more. Set in a regency period, we get Bridgeton vibes. A marriage of revenge is the focus of our story.

There is magic, wielded by "Talented",and a beautifully slow burn. Nothing is as it seems and the Enemies to lovers trope is done in the best possible way. I never felt rushed and everything with the relationships felt realistic from a pacing standpoint.

S. C Grayson uses words to paint a world that I was transported to whenever I was reading. I love love loved this book and am so excited to see what happens next in the world of the Talented.

This was an amazing retelling in my opinion. I loved it. It was sweet and even though I figured out the first “plot twist” I didn't see the others coming until way later in the book. The slow burn and the fun banter back and fourth was nice. The side characters were also entertaining. I like how Connie and Nate grow together as a couple. I'm excited to read more from this author.
