Disclaimer: I received a free copy for a honest review
I was very hesitant to read this book, as i'm generally not the biggest fan of sci-fi in general, but also because the hive mind is a trope didn't seem as something i would enjoy. The more of this book I read, however, the harder it was to put down. A bonus were the horror elements, which i did not expect.
I loved the strong characters, forced into making hard decisions. Deanne, a juvie, i found especially interesting. Her detachment and coldness played well with the story and i loved how it merged with the minder’s view.
I'm a sucker for detailed descriptions, and despite a few grammar mistakes here and there, i really enjoyed the writing.
I will probably pick up the next book as well.
Overall, 5 stars.
