This was fun! This book is more about how to be nice to people genuinely. I like that this book reminds readers that too persuade people, you have to be a caring human and you have to let the needs of others come first.

Knowing this is one of the most popular self-help books, I went into this doubting I would get any major memorable takeaways. And although I do think much of the given advice seem obvious (probably because I am growing up in a time in which self-improvement is such a buzzword), I found the most value in the real-life stories he told that apply the principles he outlined.
Using these anecdotes not only improved my understanding of the ways these principles could be applied but also made these soft skills seem less abstract and more do-able. What I thought to be “common sense” does not come that naturally — at least not for me and this may be the case for many others as well.
The one-sentence summaries for every chapter and the length of the chapters make it feel like an easy read but I also think those one-liners can give the false impression that they are formulas that you can plug and use depending on the category of the scenario, when they won’t always work every time. So take each piece of advice with a grain of salt.

this is a classic and a super quick read. love how he used stories to get his point across, and a much easier way to remember concepts. definitely a book i would go back to again and again.
