As with the whole series these books were SO good. I love that the island has women in charge and it’s based on matriarchy instead of patriarchy. The plot twists made me audibly gasp. The ending was perfect too and wrapped things up nicely.

Mostly fine ending to this quartet (which personally I think could have been a trilogy, there were a number of plot threads that went nowhere that could have been dispensed with).

This series right here is a MUST read/listen!! Three Dark Crowns tetralogy with two much needed and loved prequel novellas.

It's dark and twisty and perfect for the upcoming spooky season! This is the first and so far only series I've read from @kendareblake , but certainly won't be the last! I love her writing style, imagery, and craft for world building 😍 I am so sad this series is over. I want so much more history of Fennbirn, the Mainland, and all the other islands as well as the Queens and the Goddess. 😩

Kendare Blake is a brilliant, brave, and bold author. This book was a beautiful conclusion to the other 3 books. Blake has hit the perfect balance with growing her characters without changing them entirely and the character arcs of so many characters had amazing conclusions. The ending is heartbreaking and unexpected yet not unreasonable. The pacing was slightly slower than some of the previous books, but the time it took to read was worth it. The end was satisfying, but still left some to the imagination. I have to say my favorite part was Pietyr. I never thought I’d say that, but his character arc is amazing, beautifully written, and heartbreaking. It was just an incredible conclusion and I can’t believe the series has come this far.
