One of my favorite books of all time, Cleopatra’s Daughter is a fictional take on the real life story of Cleopatra Selene. After the fall of Egypt and their parent’s Romeo and Juliet style suicide (like it was exactly that and so sad!!) Selene and her two siblings are taken to live with the ruling family of Rome. The entire book catalogs Selene’s growth and development in Rome, her struggles living with the people who caused her parents’ deaths, and dealing with love and loss. There’s also love triangles, a slave rebellion, and a enemy to lovers situation. A very exciting and nostalgic read.
