Family Book Club: March 2024

almost resembles an anthology with the number of family members that this follows across (count them) FIVE generations. interesting narrative structure though i usually prefer a more streamlined approach. *nice*

The devil is in the details, i. e. I wonder how many girls wore "well-fitting jeans" in Texas in 1950. Better than I expected which isn't much.

I'm not convinced I was entirely impressed by this novel. It had its charms, but for the most part I felt like I was reading "Days of our Lives". For an author as highly-rated as Sidney Sheldon, I truly expected a better-written novel with a storyline that felt more real. Character development started relatively well with Jamie McGregor, but became weaker throughout the novel, and was disappointing by the time the twins were introduced.

My favorite character, Jamie died. Loved his wits. Didn't like the story as much after he died beacuse his stories are more thrilling. But the the book was a fun read. You never know whats gonna happen next
