Hard book to rate, honestly. I can see how one might think it's overly pretentious and filled with high school drama or beautifully crafted and heavy. But I liked it for what it was, disjointed moments and all.

it was good but some pieces were a bit disappointing. Dellaira has a beautiful voice and the plight of the main character was sound but I felt as if the tragedy did not warrant the storyline

3.5 stars. This book has had me desperately wishing half stars were a thing on this site, because neither 3 nor 4 is in any way right to summarise how this book sits with me.

The plot and storyline are both good. I think I loved the concept of the book more than the book itself. I have lost a brother at a young age to suicide. This book definitely nailed the waves of emotions in regards to grieving someone who died from suicide. It put me back into that mindset I had with my own experience. All in all, it was a good book.

My big frustration with this book is that Laurel was such a follower. She did whatever her sister did, whatever her friends did, whatever her boyfriend did. It didn't really seem to register to her that doing what made others happy didn't necessarily maker her happy. It's just so incredibly frustrating.
