Very fun to read, the characters are believable, the story catchy, never boring. I really loved it beginning to end!

Welcome to Glorious Tuga", and how glorious it truly was. This book captivated me in a way few others have. It was pure escapism to the most beautiful island with fascinating, heart-warming characters and a multi-layered plot.

I enjoyed the many characters in this story, led by the main character, Charlotte.  The secondary characters added so much to the story and while initially it took me a while to solidify the connections between characters, it was never overly difficult to keep up. The character list at the beginning of the book was very useful.

As I mentioned, there are multiple plots in this story but none felt unnecessary or arbitrary. There are definitely some storylines that needed tieing up at the end, and I was a little shocked when the book ended, however, I was completely delighted to see that this is part of a trilogy. I'm already counting down the days to return to glorious Tuga for part two.

With many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to honestly review this book.

This is a story of community, family, kinship, friendship and love set on the fictional island of Tuga de Oro.

It is an escapist story about the residents of the island and Charlotte who is on the island for a year to research some reptile species and find her father.

The plot explores colonialism, culture, loyalty, betrayal, bureaucracy. It also celebrates humanity and resilience.

You will be taken on the journey to and around the island with its beautiful beaches, exotic sceneries and animals and a people with a unique history and culture.

I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
