Just fine. Although everything fell into place a little too quickly and conveniently at the end.

I save five stars for books that I have an emotional response to and the theme of this one really spoke to me.

Bleh - I was super excited for this because several bookstagrammers I follow gave it 5 stars and raved about it. It made me want to gag from Lolly’s unhealthy attachment to Rory. The idea that she follows her bliss is comically. She is resigned to live the life she is stuck in, everything works out perfectly according to the life she tried to pick but was “lost” in the laundry.
The premise is cool but the gross fixation Lolly has on a guy from her past is unhealthy. I kept waiting for how her life was going to be made better - but it followed an unrealistic path. Not sure where the uplifting and empowering parts were? She just whines about how terrible her life was without Rory and then it magically worked out in the end.

Also the title is weird - there’s magical lemon drops and the pie is lemon meringue. Why are they combined?!
