I really like r.h. sin but this was just no good. This collection was weak poetry and novice at best. It was the same rendition of the same four poems on repeat. I made it 400 pages before asking myself if it was really worth and half hour of my life. I really wanted to like this. Fuck. At first I thought these were poems from before sin harnessed his craft, but after checking the publication date I was wrong.
This has put me off his work. I think the over saturation of such a small topical scope is the issue. As for the prideful bragging poems, those were fine for whiskey, for here it makes him sound like a douche - and only because only 2 poems hit their mark.
Better luck next time.

2 stars. As someone who is very familiar with r.h.Sins previous works I have to say, this is not my favourite collection. While it was relatable and I did enjoy it to a degree, I don't think it's up to his potential. I felt that it lacked a certain level of sincerity and eloquence that I have found with his other collections - it was as if it was being written just for the sake of writing something.
Thank you NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for providing me with an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

One of those books you finish overtime, it's a good bedside table read on those nights you just need a little reminder. Really enjoyed some of the poetry in this book, very real, honest, relateable and female empowering!
