Won't be reviewing this because I read it forever ago, but it was good! If you have a chance, at least skim the first few stories. It's worth the read.

Simplemente me encanta este libro. Amo como estas historias han perdurado siglos, las personas aún sigue leyendo esto y siguen cayendo por la magia de Scheherezade a la hora de contar historias.

Ye olde story collection. I really enjoyed roughly the first third, with lots of one-upmanship, people morphing into animals, sorcerers and demons. (But no Aladdin.) I got a bit lost after that, as the stories got longer, the transformations less frequent, and following the many characters became more challenging. Took me a year and a half to read. In particular, the middle was very much a slog for me. Ideally, I would've read an abridged version, as it's an interesting book, just one that overstayed my attention span.

I'd read children's versions of the biggies from The Arabian Nights (Sinbad, Ali Baba, Aladdin), but I'd never dipped into the full collection before. These tales are sometimes long and complex, sometimes short and simple, but always enthralling. Scheherazade knows how to tell a story! I read this in 633 daily email installments through DailyLit, and the structure really lends itself to that kind of serialization.
