Magnolia Mystic by Lisa Kessler
PUBLISHER DESCRIPTION

""Two words: Immortal Pirates. It doesn’t get better than that! Sexy, spicy, and so much fun--I can’t wait for the next one! - Alyssa Day, NY Times bestselling author
International Digital Award Finalist - Best Paranormal Novella
Skye Olson is a psychic like her mother, and her grandmother before her, but a bad break up with the man she thought was her soulmate has left her confidence in her abilities shaken. While she’s in crisis, a real estate tycoon from Atlanta swoops in with his eyes on her shop.
Colton Hayes spent his mortal life plundering royal ships with his pirate crew, but one holy relic changed everything. Now he and the rest of the crew protect the port of Savannah from their captain who traded his cutlass for a fountain pen.
When Colton discovers the captain wants to build a hotel in the heart of historic Savannah, he sets out to stop him, but nothing could prepare him for the sexy smile and violet eyes of the Magnolia Mystic.""

This was such a fun read! I totally enjoyed the idea of immortal pirates, and that this book has two threads--one is resolved and one we will look for in
the next book. This is a very satisfying read with a quick pace, romance, a dash of drama, and a mystery. I am looking forward to book two.

The audiobook of Magnolia Mystic is so good, Callie Dalton does a fine job of bringing the characters to life with her expressive reading voice.

Wow, I really enjoyed this book which features immortal pirates! Yes, immortal pirates! I really enjoyed the couple in this romance, there was good tension but no one overstepped each other. In fact, I was happily suprized that Colton was so supportive of Skye and also wanted to adventure... together! Yes! Plus, the depiction of tarot cards and their meanings was pretty accurate (so often in books it isn't), and I loved that Skye had "the sight".

I hadn't the other books in the series are much longer (300 pages compared to 100 here), but that just means more to enjoy. I'm looking forward to continuing the series and seeing the romances, as well as the longer arc adventure.

I think this book was just a little too short for me. The plot was interesting and the characters were good but it felt a little rushed to me. Fun quick read.

Who is Skye Olson? Where is she? Why is she there? What tour does she decide to take? Who is Curt? What do we learn about him? Who is Colton? Who are Ian and the others? I could not put this book down once I started. All the talk of Pirates, Mystics/Psychics, Treasure, and more truly made this short read a really fun book!

I have yet to pick up a book by this author and not be completely satisfied. To let you know what I mean by that, I don’t generally read straight romance as it is not one of my go-to genres, even the paranormal romances. Yes, I do read them from time to time, but this author is one that I know that no matter what I read, I will find a sweet, loving, caring romance that is well-written, has an engrossing plot, and with never a dull moment even if romance isn’t something I really look for in a book. I love the characters in this book, and I love how individual they all are. This is a novella to the start of a new series, and I for one can’t wait to see what each of the characters we were introduced in this one are going to get up to to find the stolen treasure and true love. You can’t go wrong with this one if you love great romance! Highly recommend! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

3,5 stars more or less ...

A nice short story and I really liked the concept of urban fantasy with pirates...
But I was very frustrated ><
Yes I knew it was a short-story but if the romance has an end, the plot does not and it's very frustrating ! For me it's more a prologue than a short story and it spoiled the reading for me a bit...
I would have preferred an entire book !

In short, an introduction for a series that seems to have a lot of potential !

Actions have consequences. Colton Hayes spent his mortal life plundering royal ships with his pirate crew until he and his crew steal an object that curses them with immortality. Sure it gives you time to build a fortune and learn new and wonderful things but what is life without love? When psychic Skye Olson becomes a bone of contention between Colton (he wants her as a woman) and the captain (he wants her property) maybe she will end up being their redemption. A sweet fun escape that will leave you longing for the high seas.
