I raced through the first two chapters of Volume 8, devouring Lakan’s backstory and the result of the bet Maomao made with him at the end of Volume 7. Then, the pacing slowed only slightly, leaving me with a great big “What?!” at the end of chapter 40
What do you mean Jinshi’s office will overflow with get-well-soon flowers?!?!
, a chuckle over the books in the next chapter, and warm-and-cuddly kitty feelings at the end. 

This manga continues to be a pure and total delight. From illustrations to story, it is 100% entertaining and the definition of a page-turner!
