I like how light-hearted this volume felt. The ā€˜Booksā€ chapter was especially hilarious and the kitten chapter was so adorable, mostly because I love cats. A cute, easy read this one and I enjoyed reading the material that hasn't been made into the anime yet.

I raced through the first two chapters of Volume 8, devouring Lakanā€™s backstory and the result of the bet Maomao made with him at the end of Volume 7. Then, the pacing slowed only slightly, leaving me with a great big ā€œWhat?!ā€ at the end of chapter 40
What do you mean Jinshiā€™s office will overflow with get-well-soon flowers?!?!
, a chuckle over the books in the next chapter, and warm-and-cuddly kitty feelings at the end. 

This manga continues to be a pure and total delight. From illustrations to story, it is 100% entertaining and the definition of a page-turner!

Not that first chapter making me feel bad for Lakanā€”

I really enjoyed this chapter because Iā€™ve missed the inner court ladies, and I really love Princess Lingli. Sheā€™s so cute šŸ„¹ It was a nice break from the last volume that was hella heavy šŸ˜”
