This was a strange one for me, I couldn't get into it at all and I just couldn't find the urge to read more than maybe 4 pages at a time? This wasn't anything on the author the writing and story was honestly great it was purely my lack of interest in Beast.

The ending chapters are when this got my attention and I ended up reading around 60 pages and finishing it in that sitting! Great ending and I can't wait for Ursula!

I liked the twist on the well known fairytale and I thought it was interesting Gaston and the Prince were friends. Overall, the book was rather boring and very repetitive. I had high hopes since I love Disney but was very disappointing.

The story gives a nod to the classic version, all while sprinkling bits and pieces of new exposition. This enriched the story as a whole, which led me to understand, and truly root for, the Beast.
