I've read many Preston/Child books and absolutely love most of what they have written together. But, "Ice Limit" not so much. I simply could not get into it no matter how hard I tried. I got to about page 100 and became so bored that I tossed it aside. This one is slow going. If you are looking for a lot of typical Preston/Child action... save your money. "Ice Limit" fails.

I found the language a bit simple and the story simple as well. Not their best, in my view.

I've read this before and wouldn't have read it again if I had remembered it. It's my least favorite of all the Preston & Child books. There ate too many contradictions and coincidences for me, and none of the characters are developed enough for me to care about their fate.

I just felt like the book was going in circles and not really moving forward or really entertaining me. So I got bored and decided you don't have to finish this book. You can quit so I did. I just found it extremely boring. And again like I'm doing now it talked in circles.

Preston and Child do it again. This book could easily have been dialed in. In so many ways it feels like it's setting things up for more to come, but our intrepid authors continue to give each outing their all. It's full of research, science fiction, murder, mystery, and naval action enough to satisfy just about anyone. As always, they take liberties with the science and with the Earth itself, but in enjoying the ride, I really didn't care.

This was a good story but far too long and drawn out so that I lost interest eventually.

Really good, but since one of the more harrowing events in this book is my worst nightmare I couldn't quite rate it 5 stars. It freaked me out and totally disturbed me, which was the point I'm sure. But it sat so wrong with me that I just couldn't bring myself to give this book the 5th star it deserves. Regardless, I'm going to go read the second one.

Really good read. Interesting but light science, good suspense, and an ending that made me look to see if there was a sequel.
