This story focuses around a female wolf who is determined to find a mate before she ages and is made to leave the pack she calls her family.
The book goes into a lot of details about mating and how a female wolf is supposed to submit to a more dominant wolf. This is the heroines main issue as she is a very dominant wolf and has yet to meet a male that is more dominant.
It was interesting and I’m interested in finding out more about the prophecy in the next books.

This is a slow burn but the story hooked me right away so I didn’t even care. I love the world that Laurel Night created in this book, finally something different than the usual shifter universe. She does a great job introducing the world and its history, she adds it in when appropriate so it flows effortlessly with the story.
The FMC is a strong alpha and she’s just an amazing character with a great sense of self. I love the way the author describes the relationship between her and her best friend, you can feel all of the turmoil and emotions between them, and I love it.
The author uses multiple POVs, which I found extremely helpful when distinguishing between the men introduced. Each has their own way of thinking and interacting with the FMC, it was nice to see their internal monologue. I did mix up a few and their positions a few times so I had to read back a bit. Other than that, I really enjoyed this book. The second book is already on my TBR list for when it is released.

Got this book for free in the Stuff Your Kindle event, this is probably one of the only books I got from that that was more than just a quick throwaway for me. I’d realistically rate 3.5/5 but I’m rounding up to 4 since I did read all 4 books so obviously it wasn’t the worst. It was an interesting concept.

A great way to get to know the characters
At times it was unfortunate that the biggest focus of the book was mating. BUT... it allowed us to get to know each of the Alphas, Betas, Emory, and Kariya better.
This story does not end in a cliffhanger, but it does end with the promise of the adventure to come.It leaves you pondering how the dynamic between all the wolves will change.
While the story isn't about Warren, I wish we got to see a little more of him. He wasn't as close to Kaliya as Emory but he also didn't run from her dominance as the others did.
Stig - There seems to be so much more hiding under his size. the small interactions with him shows us how much he cares about his pack. And just how much he can grow to care for Kali.
Mateo - His flirtatious ways may catch our girls eye. But the way he comes to the challenge when need be shows he's not just a flirt.
Taika - She opened up to him the most in some ways (besides Emory who has known her). We can see that just like her he has an armor that he places over his emotions to present a calm demeanor.
Rowan - He is so disinterested in women. But they must mate. It is fun gauging his reactions to Kali throughout the book.
Emory - and his amazing braiding skills. The best friend ❤ everyone deserves. He is resigned to make sure Kali finds the right Mate for herself and doesn't get kicked out of the pack. His shinning moment at the end was PRICELESS!
Dante oh Dante... You have to read to find out.
Mikal - I have no words except good at hiding his scent.
Kaliya - I can't wait until she is comfortable in her Dominance. *Alpha grumble of approval*
I hate their rules of mating... but that's what made it all cringeworthy interesting. All of these individuals on the search for a Dominant or Submissive mate.
I look forward to the rest of their journey. And to learn more about the wraith. So far feels like at least a trilogy, but let's see what else the Ancients throw our way.

If you want a paranormal series with an actual bad ass heroine, this is the series. She doesn't apologize or try to make herself small. She just moves forward like the badass she is and it's friggin incredible.

Kaliya is a kick ass FMC. She’s this perfect combination of tough, intelligent and secretly yearning for more out of her life. Sometimes when an FMC like this is written she comes off bitchy or incompetent. Kaliya was neither. I just really enjoyed her character. The men were good as well but she was definitely the star for me; which is rare cause I’m a sucker for a good MMC. The way each of the guys brings out different sides of her personality was also extremely well written. I’m invested in this series and can’t wait to continue it.

I have no words. this was just so amazing and had me freaking left and right! I was laughing too. But I had no clue what was gonna happen at all in the end, why she leave me on a confusing messed up cliffhanger like that smh
