To the logician all things should be seen exactly as they are, and to underestimate one's self is as much a departure from truth as to exaggerate one's own powers.

I do think these short stories were better than everything I read before, Sherlock related. It just took me a while, because of school...

Ahh Once again it was really good to re read this book and rediscover so many of the stories I had forgotten details of. I always remember reading in such fascination the outcry the last story produced, but am now even more enthralled with the atmosphere and descriptions of Victorian London. Sherlock Holmes is definitely a classic character, he has something to offer me whatever age I am!

A collection of short stories of different crimes. Some are better than others but overall it is a great book and the ending shocked me and bumped this up to a 5 star overall
