The book focuses mainly on romantic love (a given, considering essays were written by readers of the column), but I appreciated the inclusion of familial and platonic love and their models. Despite not having personally experienced some of these stories (like the ones about parental love), I found them resonating with me. Overall, this collection of essays takes you through the ups and downs of life and how it impacts us all through the concept of love.
Moderate: Cancer, Death, Suicide, and Grief
Minor: Sexual content and Alcohol

I would say there’s a stronger focus on certain types of love over others, but that’s to be expected given these stories are written by readers of an editorial. Despite my lack of experience with some situations described in the book, I found myself truly able to relate and feel for the authors of each story. In my opinion, love really binds us all to each other.
