I went from one book straight into the next one, I couldn't stop. So this review will just tell you about the series as a whole: it's amazing! Very dark, so please read the page before getting into the book. The main characters are good guys (obvs) but they are still vampires and lycans living in a society that does not value human life AT ALL, so throughout the series you will see some pretty... tough actions and descriptions (some of these things are on page) so I just want you to know before going in.

With that said, I can't say a single negative thing about this series. I loved the cast of characters. Our world just kept growing and overlapping and I love a series that will pull previous characters in. The plot for each book is strong and the overarching plot of the series has kept me guessing (and guessing wrong lol) the entire time. I LOOOOOOOVED the fifth book's surprise because I had so many theories and it STILL wasn't predictable.

The spice in this series is HOT ya'll! Make sure you've got fresh batteries or you're all charged up cause honey.... it's a spicy meatball! (vine reference)

Buckle up because this was a wild ride.

I honestly can't even pin point the emotion I'm feeling right now. I'm giddy at the love between Jace and Calina, I'm angry at Lilith, I'm so sad with how it ended, and I'm anxious for more!!

This installment literally started with a bang and ended with a bang. The emotion I felt between Jace and Calina hit me to my soul. I've read A LOT of books and I really think that their love and bond is the ultimate book love. Seriously, a better pair couldn't have been written.

The addition to the Blood Alliance world in this book was phenomenal. I just cannot get over the amazing world building from this series. There was SO MUCH information in Kingly Bitten!! So many questions were answered, a lot of doors closed, but now we have a whole other issue at hand and I can't wait to see how the gears work.

Let's hope Izzy saves the resistance!!

A gothic romance novel, Vampires and Lycans rule and humans are subservient. check your TWs. This is a descriptive read and likely not for everybody. This book was again more of a slow burn, and almost gave you too many details, it could have been two books. Because of all the information the author was trying to give to us it felt jumpy and yet so much went unexplained. I don't like when authors introduce characters and they just kind of fade away as the story progresses. It felt like a forgotten storyline. In the beginning, these characters were super important to the story. You wanted us to believe that these three people were important enough for her to risk everything and go against a royal vampire to save and then she loses all concern for them? From getting out of the lab to being the bargaining tip during the guy's integration, last we know they are being held captive by the good guys, but they have taken their child away from them. He's being nurtured by another wolf, who we love, and then we don't hear about them through most of the story... Suddenly at the end, we hear, the wolf that was taking care of the child is now taking the parents under their protection. But, it just felt like there was so much more of that story to be told... But I loved it!

Another excellent installment of the Blood Alliance series! But Calina and Jace aren’t like many of the other couples we have met previously. Yes, she is strong willed, and doesn’t quite conform or fully understand the « rules » she is supposed to follow in the world of vampires and lycans - a headstrong and beautiful woman is always at the center of who catches the eye of the MMC. But Calina is brilliant - the head researcher in one of Lilith’s labs, but also one of her most successful experiments, and the subject of years of abuse and torture by her maker. But now Lilith is dead, and protocols are in place to protect the lab and everything they have done there - it must be destroyed, along with Calina. Except, if Lilith is dead, could she just not comply?

Jace is an awesome alpha vampire. He is strategic and logical, and their plans are coming together now that Lilith has been taken out by Ryder and Willow. But they can’t show their cards yet, and they need to find where she kept all of her info - they need to find Cam and really get the revolution moving. But Jace didn’t take into account Calina. She is his match in every way. Not only is she beautiful and intriguing, she is brilliant, and has the same strategic, logic mind that he has, which turns him on even more than her appearance does. It’s also very fun to see the reactions others have as things unfold and Jace becomes more and more entangled with the woman, when he has never been one for monogamy in the past. Their back and forth, sizzling chemistry and passion, and strategic thinking make them a force to be reckoned with. And there is plenty of steam, as usual.

There’s also a thread here that is a bit interesting, and different. We have transmissions happening that are from Lilith - recorded before her death - to a mysterious « Liege ». Someone who is supposedly at the head of the operations she has been running, someone who is clearly an elder who has seemingly been sleeping until recently, and is now being informed of everything that has been happening and how to proceed. There are hints at who this could be throughout, but the final reveal is maybe not exactly surprising, but there is a very intriguing twist that is an excellent set up for the next book. I like the direction it will take us, and am looking forward to the next chapter in the series!

Trying to review this book without spoilers is a challenge in itself.

It took everything I thought I knew about the Blood Alliance, flipped it on it's head, kicked it around a little, threw it out the window and then let it come back in the door for tea. Seriously I can't explain it any better than that.

We are talking twist after twist, revelation after revelation, plus some steamy hot sexy times thrown in. We get to see some previous couples and its always awesome to check in with Ryder and Kylan. Swoon ladies SWOON!

Let's not forget the couple of the hour, Calina and Jace. It honestly feels like they are made for each other. This dark and cruel world shaped them both into the perfect partner for the other. Jace can boss me around anytime.

I am already an emotional wreck just thinking about the next featured couple. I think the next book will change everything.

Kingly Bitten is the most recently released installment of the “Blood Alliance” series and I have a feeling that we are close to the end of the series. Not sure though, I mean, not sure what this author’s true plans are for the series and we probably won’t know until the next book is released, I am hoping though that this is not the end or even close to it, I am really not ready to say goodbye to this world or these characters. But I think I went in with Kingly Bitten having super high expectations and I can say that this one didn’t quite meet them as I had hoped it would. I had seen many glowing reviews of this book and while I really enjoyed it, I just didn’t quite get the same thrills as say the earlier books in the series. Now it did have its moments that reminded me of book one (and those that have read book one and this one know what I am referring to) but I really didn’t know what to make of this pairing. I just didn’t quite connect with it as I would have liked. It has many of the political build-ups of course, and it does contain all of our favorite well loved characters that we have loved seeing, BUT, at the end of the day I struggled with this one. I think I just didn’t understand the connection between Jace and Calina. I think this book felt more like a filler to prepare for book six. We do get to find out what happened to Cam (and man my heart goes out to him and what his mate will have to suffer to find their way to their HEA) I really liked seeing all the machinations that Lillith had gone to because she is one piece of work villain that is for sure. But it was the romance that I just didn’t fully connect with and I think maybe I wanted so much from Jace’s book and I just didn’t quite feel it. So while I had some fun times with this book, and it definitely has its moments, it won’t be worth a reread unfortunately but eager to see what this author brings to the table with book six.

My Review

I’ve been looking forward to this one and it didn’t disappoint it carries on moving the momentum towards a brilliant cliffhanger that definitely left me agog and wanting more.

Calina is head researcher for Lilith in bunker 47 she’s been created and raised in the lab herself surviving cruel punishments and experiments at Lilith’s hands. She is not quite human herself an immortal being that is neither vampire nor Lycan. Lilith’s death forces her to play her hand but after finally being liberated from the bunker she now finds herself the property of Jace an ancient royal vampire who we’ve met previously.

These two are instantly drawn to each other and with Jace, it’s a complete attraction of body and mind he finds Calina’s intelligence and thought process fascinating but it will take some drastic circumstances to force him to admit to himself the truth of just what Calina may mean to him.

This had heat and chemistry it can’t be read as a stand-alone as events have occurred previously that tie in with this so you do need the background from the previous book. I liked the fact that we got to catch up with some previous characters this was also fast-paced and the finale here was so truly shocking leaving me wanting the next book like yesterday. As usual, this was well written and it was a fabulous addition to the series. I voluntary reviewed a copy of Kingly Bitten.

OH. MY. GOD.

I’ve waited so long for this book and it didn’t disappoint! I loved everything about it: the plot that kept me guessing, the characters that had so much depth, the dialogue that was so engaging and witty, the sex scenes that were steamy AF, and that epilogue! HOLYY HELL! The epilogue was basically a cliffhanger for the next book. I’m going to be in agony waiting for book 6! I can’t recommend this series enough. I absolutely adore it!
