Reviewing all the three Woody Allen books: Without Feather was a work of genius, 5 star! A collection of prose in the form of stories, short plays, articles and essays, each giving me a short laugh and never being short of it. It is simple and filled with matter-of-fact-ly writing of the most bizarre things and conversations. Satirical and utterly hilarious, that first book- and WA won my heart! I swiftly jumped to the rest of his works. If not for anything, read it for- "If the impressionists had been dentists", though it feels so wrong, to not mention alllll the other articles/stories in Book 1. A 5 star!
Book 2: Getting Even and Book 3: Side effects - are written in the same line. Collection of short stories and articles. Both mocking and each of his work chuckle-to-oneself funny!
Overall, a four star. And definitely recommended.

دو داستانش برام جالب بودن، یک دو سه جایی از کتاب هم لبخند زدم ولی خوب نبود در کل. طنزش بیشتر قسمتها ساده و دم دستی بود به نظرم و من رو جذب نکرد.

As probably the only book I've read in 1 day (2 sittings!), this was simultaneously a nice break from my last 3 weeks surrounded by people & a rude awakening from my 3 weeks surrounded by people. (I only spoke to 3 humans today & 1 was a Chipotle cashier.)
And as expected, these stories made me laugh. :/
I feel abt Woody Allen the same way Shelby Cummings feels abt Sam Montgomery in that scene in A Cinderella Story where she's like, "Love the dress... hate her."
Love the writing... hate him.
He's shady as hell, but clever as hell too, dammit. The act of highlighting funny quotes in this book was balanced with the act of drawing red flags next to questionable ones. *sigh*
I did, at least, get it secondhand. Zero royalties to Mr. Allen! Thank you! <3

Generally not as strong as Getting Even, but the story The Kugelmass Episode alone makes this one worth the price of admission. So. Great.
