Really enjoyed this. As with a similar book I've just read, I was impressed and taken with the level of humanity throughout this book. I particularly appreciated that Dr Adshead did not just look at the more palatable offences, but some incredibly tough ones too. Whilst there were many parts that were deeply familiar to me, there was also a lot of learning in here, and I am excited to apply it to my own line of work.

Some horrible subjects are discussed but Dr. Glen Adshead and Eileen Horne treat every story with such intelligent insight. It is such a hopeful book for future reform to our prison system and also how such traumatic lives and experiences can turn around into something positive.

There is clinical discussion of uncomfortable topics so not for everyone and sometimes it was hard to read but worth the journey.
