This isn’t my normal type of book but nonetheless it was a great read. I really enjoyed it and it has made me think. Idk what else to say. I really recommend it

A remarkable book and one that will stay with me for a long time. Extremely thought provoking and well written. A must read for anyone who is interested in the links between poor early childhood attachments, mental health problems and later violent behaviour.

What a well written book!
The authors depiction of such dark topics is really well done with the primary emphasis put on understanding these people rather than glorifying crime.

An illuminating insight into the minds of people who are popularly perceived as irredeemable real life villains: stalkers, arsonists, murdurers, pedophiles, and whathaveyou. The author couples objective facts to empathy by infusing the narrative with word-to-word accounts in the form of interviews with her patients as well as their backgrounds. It does a marvellous job of challenging commonly held beliefs regarding mentally ill offenders, mental health professionals, and secure hospitals. I highly recommend to anyone interested in criminal psychology.
