The best kind of armchair traveling - I learned so much and feel like I just returned from an amazing journey I wish I could stay on forever.

Absolutely one of the best books I have read this year - the scent of citrus seems to percolate from each page.
I realise this type of book isn't for everyone, but I love to read about the history of food products and the history of citrus is fascinating.
I've dog-eared my copy of the book, making sure I don't forget some of the places I want to visit as, fortunately, I'll be in Sicily in a couple of months. However, the ever-thoughtful Attlee includes a list of places to visit in the back of the book along with a list of further reading and her comprehensive notes.
Definitely a must-read for anyone interested in food history.

Rating this book was very hard for me as in some parts it was very interesting and informative while other were extremely boring and made me put down the book so many times. I was hoping for more Italian climate and more recipes.

I absolutely loved this book. Italy is one of my favourite places in the world and reading this only heightened those feelings. Full of fragrance, colour, sunshine and a lot of citrus fruit!
