I am so glad to see this series continue with Seth. I always want to know what happened at the end of the last book. It makes you remember just how much you missed his sarcasm and to finally something going his way after everything he has been though. great story full of action and with the romance that's going on its fabulous can't wait to start the next one.

Greek gods fighting, titans, and Seth all trying to get to one little human. Exciting, sexy and ends with a cliffhanger.

My Review:
I honestly don’t know where to start with this book. I can say it wasn't what I was expecting, in the best way of course. Now, I've had a back and forth relationship with Seth in the Covenant series. Aiden will always have my heart, BUT now Seth has managed to wiggle in and capture pieces of it as well. Which, I’m happy to say, I’m glad he has.
Jennifer is one of my favorite authors. She creates worlds and characters I can’t help but fall in love with, and like the Covenant series she created this amazing and wonderful world brimming with fantastic mythology creates and gods that really stand out. I love the way she wrote and wove her story. How she added in Greek Mythological Gods and Goddess, their personalities, and their role within the The Return – and the Covenant series. She depicts them so well!
Josie isn't the usually heroine I read about, but I found that refreshing in a way because I know this girl is going to have a lot of character growth. She definitely evolved quite a lot through this book, but I am excited to see her grow even more. What I enjoyed about her was when she is practically thrown head first into Seth’s world she handled it believable. Though it was hard for her, she was challenged, she didn’t back down when she couldn't fight. She might not be physically strong, but Josie has a strong heart and a strong mind.
Now let’s talk about Seth. As I mentioned, I was back and forth with him in JLA’s previous series. I didn’t think that I would become consumed by this guy, but low and behold, I did after being able to get inside his head. And what an experience that was. Being able to read in Seth’s POV allowed me to understand him on a level I wasn't able to before. All his emotions, everything he felt with Alex, his guilt, his desires, everything was opened up to me. Watching him still struggle with everything made me feel and fall for him. And I loved that I got to truly know him because Seth really is an amazing character. He really is strong, mature (well, he’s getting there), kind, and sweet when he wants to be. But he still retains that cocky and arrogant attitude.
It was the character growth that I enjoyed almost as much as the mythological elements of the book. Seth grows so well in the book. He has been through so much, and though he has still a ways to go, I can say I am very much proud of his character. The romance was also sweet and so very steamy. I loved the chemistry between Josie and Seth. I loved watching them both learn from each other because they really do.
I enjoyed the pacing of the book. It was fast, kept me flipping the pages just ready for whatever happened next. The action flowed nicely, always intense and very well written. Of course I can’t get over the side characters! I adore Deacon, so I was SUPER happy to see him again and Apollo. The world that JLA has created is definitely getting more intricate, but I think she is doing a wonderful job.
The Return brought out the feels for sure. I adored and loved this book and I definitely can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. JLA has created another wonderful and gripping series (and I’m really happy that it’s about Seth).

I had a bit of trouble rating this book. My love for Seth is extremely high, so when I heard that there would be a spin-off series of this amazing Apollyon, I had no doubts it would be 5 stars. In a way I guess you could say I was a little bit disappointed. Although there are some obvious differences, the first 80% of the book seemed to be like I was reading [b:Half-Blood|9680718|Half-Blood (Covenant, #1)|Jennifer L. Armentrout|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1311865840s/9680718.jpg|14568639] all over again. Josie might as well just be Alex. Okay - maybe I'm a little bitter about it?
I am thrilled that Seth has a real love interest. He has given up so much for Alex and even himself, that he deserves everything that Josie gives him. Josie is a character that I think you're either going to love or hate. She had some annoying tid-bits about her, but overall I did really like her.
Seth is the same sexy bastard that we loved. His sexiness did go about 100 notches in this one though. It is an adult novel unlike the previous series, but holy sweet baby Jesus. I would love me some of that!!
The last couple chapters was probably the only big action that happened through-out the whole story. If you can pass that first 50% of information, character building etc. It does start to pick up again. I am excited to jump right into [b:The Power|26125281|The Power (Titan, #2)|Jennifer L.
