I love these books, but I always feel like they're too short. Not just that, but lately, the big, bad, dangerous thing that's been such an issue through the whole book... Well it gets wrapped up in less than one chapter and boom, Happily ever after! It's a little disappointing.

Could not put it down.
I have been in love with Argeneau series by Lynsay Sands for years and i'm always excited when a new one comes out. Long series are fuel for my soul so the second I knew the 35th book ‘After the Bite’ was coming out I had to get my hands on it. I loved the romance stories about main family but the the Enforcers stories are so amazing and entertaining. They are romantic and suspenseful reminding me of an paranormal version of silhouette intrigue books that I borrowed from my mom as a teen. I found the setting to be fun and new. I never really thought about a golf course being a romantic place or the set for a mystery.
Valerian is a over 200 year old Scottish immortal enforcer who works for the Canadian branch. After spending all winter chasing down rogue immortals and trying to fixture out if series murders dubbed the angel killer are being done by one of them. Now that they have to wait until the first snow of him to strike again Valerian just wants to relax on his new farm and play 18 holes of night golf.
Natalie inherited her parents golf course three years ago when in one night her life was turned upside down after a car accident killed her parents, husband and young son. Now she has gone from up and come chef to golf course owner where she cooks, cleans, severs and mows from sun up to after sun down all while being a single mother to a toddler. But when one of her employees forgets to fill the gas tank on one of her golf carts she gets her first look at the mysterious twilight golfer that has been visiting her course for the last six months.
He can’t read her. He realizes that he might have met his life mate after meeting the owner of the course and trying to stop her from refunding his golf game for a small mistake. However, he became convinced that the angel killer was after her after seeing her run into a water trap as if she was being pursued, grass in the shape of angel wings and angel statues appearing out of nowhere. Can he keep her safe.

How is it that I am sucked back into reading this series when each time I want to pull my hair out from the repetitiveness and lack of plot and interesting characters.

Valerian has been hoping to find his life mate but never expected to find her while playing golf. But now that he has found her can he keep her safe?
Natalie doesn't have enough hours in the day. She is determined to build up and expand the business she owns. So when danger knocks on her door will she trust the new man in her life?
After the Bite is the latest installment in Lynsay Sands Argeneau series. I really enjoyed getting to know Natalie and Valerian. Natalie has finally managed to pick up the pieces after the death of her entire family. She is beginning to see a future for her and her daughter. But is she ready to add a man in her life? I loved seeing Valerian woo the woman who will own his heart. Danger surrounds her but he is determined to protect her even as he gives her time to get to know him. I loved the time he takes to gain her trust even as danger stalks her. I loved seeing Natalie learn to trust herself and him.
This story is a well written and enjoyable story. I thoroughly enjoyed returning to this world Ms. Sands has created and I cannot wait to see where she will take us next.

Quick Summary: A "fast and furious" vampire fantasy romance
My Review: After the Bite by Lynsay Sands is An Argeneau Novel. It is installment 35.
About the Book: An Atlantean descendent meets a single parent mother who happens to be his lifemate.
My Final Say: This was an interesting read. I didn't love it, but I thought it was fair. My expectation was to see more of a sinister villain, as well as to get more of a taste of malevolence. In truth, I thought that the antagonist proved to be a predictable presence. More than anything, this book just felt like a meet-a-mate story. I wanted a bit more action with the romance.
Other: Additional considerations about this book include the following: there was quite a bit of repetition , the MFC fluctuated with her presentation (rather drastically), and the transition seemed rushed at the end.
Other: Readers who like The BDB books will like this book.

Another solid entry in the Argeneau series with a sprinkle of hints for even more pairings to come. Thirty-five books in and I still love this series and Lynsay Sands’ hilarious paranormal romances.
Thanks to Avon and NetGalley for my copy to review.

Sweet baby Jesus.... I am almost speechless. I am not the target audience for this book or for this series. This is the THIRTY FIFTH installment of this vampire series. I have read none of the books prior to this and was given this book to read as part of a blind date with a book book club. I.... did not like this. Not one bit. It was cheesy, oddly written and had so many weird plot holes!
Natalie inherited her parents golf course after they were killed in a car accident with her husband and three year old son. She is a workaholic and runs herself ragged keeping the place open and watching after her toddler daughter. One of her elusive golfers Valerien (who she has never met) likes to golf at dusk. Little does she know that he is a vampire and an enforcer, his job is to hunt down vampires that have gone rogue and prey on humans. One such vampire, the Angelmaker, seems to have his sights set on Natalie. When Valerien discovers that, he will do anything to keep her safe because he has discovered that she is his life mate. BARF. I can't even go on. I did finish reading it (begrudgingly). The ending was double barf. How is this series so long?!?

Lynsay Sands is a talented writer who has a way of writing the characters and stories so it feels like you are right alongside them as the action is taking place. After the Bite is no different and I loved meeting some of the immortals that Valerian worked with, but at some point there were just too many characters from previous books thrown in to the mix on this one. I also had figured out who the bad guy was very early on, but hadn't at all guessed the motivations. I enjoyed seeing that Valerian's life mate was a single mom and all of Valerian's interactions with Mia, but I wanted more time with the three of them together, without all of the others thrown into the mix. They don't kiss for the first time until more than halfway through the book, and when they finally get together it felt like things happen at warp speed. I really wanted more time with them developing as a couple, especially with a child already in the mix!
