Hilarious
I’m so glad I finally picked this up. When I first discovered this author, I wasn’t interested in this book; reading the teaser just didn’t catch my fancy. Considering I love E. J. Kitchen’s other works, however, I decided to give this a go. And I’m so glad I did.
Firstly, it’s hilarious. I actually laughed aloud several times. Secondly, I think it was a pretty unique retelling of Beauty and the Beast. I enjoyed every bit of it and it is definitely joining the “to be read again” pile.
It is very clean romantically, with a perfect amount of sweetness and there is no coarse language.
I would say age appropriate for young teens and up.
There’s a slight amount of violence, though nothing too gruesome.

Speculative is not my genre, and while this edged over into that, it had enough of the fairy tale re-write feel to make me happy. I enjoyed the very different retelling of Beauty and Beast.

I liked the premise and the world building and the characters. The writing is hard to follow sometimes when there's action, making the last few chapters a chaotic mess. Also, naming the two main male characters Rupert and Robert is crappy.

I loved this. The humor, the premise, the failure of the enchantress, who is a hell of a seamstress for sure. The annoyingness of the curse and its rules. Lyndon was hilariously cheeky for a servant while Beast and Belinda played tennis but with wit and sarcasm instead of balls. A far better game to observe for sure. At least I laughed more so I believe so. I had to hand it to Belinda, right up until the end, she was pushing Beast to admit who he was and to break his curse because only he truly could. I will so be reading more of this series as it comes out!

I generally try and read at least half a book before I pass judgement. And in pretty lax, as long as it entertains me I'll generally finish it. I couldn't make it past chapter 5 with this book. The writing was soooo bad and the dialogue made me want to gag. Big no for me

I so enjoy E.J. Kitchens’ books
Another story of adventure and romance that delights with its witty conversations and playful character interactions. I look forward to book 2 in this intriguing series.
