This was a good, quick read. With it being a smaller book (~80 pages on my kindle), naturally the pace and plot will be quicker.
I loved Rhodopis’ character growth. She went from an observant, stuck to the wall slave to a slave that believed in protecting others. Abu was a dreamy MMC, and written to be very gentle and kind, which I liked.
This was a romantic novel, but not a spicy one. If you’re going into this expecting spice, you will be disappointed. I personally liked the fluffy romance, it was very refreshing!
The end felt like a cliffhanger, even though this is a standalone. Yes, we find out Rhodopis’ true nature, but what happens after that? I wish the epilogue would’ve focused more on her life after discovering her true nature, instead of ending off on a bland, HEA.
