Bumped it up a WHOLE ASS STAR for the SMUT! It was SO steamy and the raunchiest I've ever read in an adult romance. It DID NOT disappoint and it's worth it for the smut alone. It's a little vanilla mixed in with a bit of BDSM. Was high key expecting a foursome because there are 3 main guys in the story. This book was very insta-love because they fell in love in FOUR FUCKING DAYS and I don't think I was given the chance to get to know any of the characters in a serious way. Like okay, Channing doesn't fit in with her family but I felt like the deeper details like that were told and not shown and I couldn't develop an emotional connection with any of the characters.
Also, what the actual fuck um Edgard is Brazilian and speaks Portuguese and yet he's going around sprinkling in Spanish words into his dialogue and not Portuguese?! Do your fucking research!

Ran out of time on ku, found myself uninterested and offended a lot when reading. Some very hot spicy scenes, however.

Summary: After ditching her slimeball rodeo boyfriend, the FMC takes up with three other cowboys while they travel the circuit.
Notes: CR/Rodeo/Western, RH/WC? Maybe ends with M/F?, wide open door, I believe it stands alone.
Stats: I just got bored. I’m also really tired of FMC’s being allowed to commit domestic violence and it being treated as a joke/acceptable. It’s also not clear if this is actually a WC/RH HEA or if it winds up M/F (I think it might) and I wasn’t feeling like it. To her credit, I think Lorelei James does have a fairly good grasp of rodeo/western culture - Among many other examples, having an MMC who dips was very unusual for Romance, but also very on brand for the culture. The audiobook makes the Brazilian character seem like he’s speaking Spanish rather than Portuguese - not sure if that’s a carry over from the book or not. There also seems to be some confusion about prostates. DNF at 40%
Incomplete, but still spoilery, Content NotesAlcohol, mention of boyfriend “keeping her sequestered”, bronc/bull riding/other rodeo events, FMC/MMC kiss while she is in a relationship with someone else, dip/chewing tobacco, slutshaming of side characters by side character, boyfriend punches FMCs nipple hard enough to hurt (noncon), FMC slaps boyfriend’s hand when he is hurting her, infidelity (FMC is the unknowing other woman), FMC hits boyfriend with a trophy, MMCs have sex with another woman (on page, before they get together with the FMC), nonnegotiated spanking (not with FMC), whiny dom, quite consent-y, light transactional sex, detailed blowjob, lube, titfucking,, MMCs ask for instruction during sex (for how to make it better for the FMC), a racist joke about a side character from a side character, family estrangement, kink (blindfolding, bondage w/rope, group sex, deepthroating, praise, punishment games, spanking, power play/D/S, DP, light free use, anal play/anal sex, rope play, whipping, uncut MMC, reluctant MMC, Racism against a side character (by random character), manhandling of the FMC by random character

As is obvious by the title this book is mostly smut and not much of anything else. All the characters and events just felt like spliced together tropes and not real people I could connect to. The sex itself and all the sexy talk and scenes was giving “written by a man” even if it actually wasn’t. Not my cup of tea.

Racism, hints of homophobia earlier in the book, awkward dialogue. Plus the narrator just wasn’t it
