Read this book for a university class and absolutely loved it. The characters are rich & vivid, and the story portrays an accurate & clear understanding of the history surrounding the labor movement (and subsequent development of the 8-hour work day model, which was revolutionary at the time and has led to incredible progress in society). I still think about this book and will pay homage to the characters if I ever find myself in Chicago. A must-read IMO.
