the storyline was nothing special, nothing that hasn't been written before. but it was well written, kept me interested and i feel like Haynes did a very good job at describing what having OCD is like and how it can develop (i don't know for certain as i don't have OCD but it was well described).

An incredibly suspenseful, scary, and creepy tale of how someone can scare you, even when they’re not right there. I was so invested in the characters in this book and every time I read more, I could feel my anxiety heightening for the lead character.

What. The. Hell. Was. That.

Disturbing. Changes perspective on life. Gripping. Thought provoking.

Into the Darkest Corner was by far one of the best books I have ever read. There was never a dull moment where I put it down because it moved too slow. It was intense and kept my heart racing till the very last page, and even after I'd finished the book and closed it I still couldn't forget it and it kept me up all night.

Sweet baby Jesus! This book is about 300 pages too long. If I were you, I'd probably read to about 25% then go ahead and skip to 75%. I pushed on because I'd heard good things and it has a good rating on here. I mean the underlying story had promise but damn the dragging of the story was ridiculous.

When something seems too good to be true… it probably is. Catherine quickly figures this out when she meets Lee. Everything seems to be going wonderfully until it’s not. She is soon in the midst of a violent relationship that she can’t seem to escape. After years of violent behavior, Catherine plans the ultimate escape and Lee lands in prison. Catherine is gaining her true self back slowly and is making progress in a new city years later when she is notified that Lee will be released soon and all the trauma and nightmares return. Lee knows no bounds when it comes to finding Catherine, but luckily this time she has Stuart…and is not letting her fear get in the way any more.

5/5. Wooooo boy. This was a painfully good read, with the jumping between timelines throughout the majority of the narrative. My heart went out to the character, and at no point did I find her annoying or unsympathetic. I highly recommend this book, although it may contain triggers for abusive situations.
