It is strange to say you love a book that is full of abuse and psychological manipulation, but I must have because I could barely put it down. I was stuck in the bathtub for 3 hours because I couldn't find a place to stop reading. It took me that long to realize that there were no chapters to remind you to take a break! I am usually not very fond of books that take you back and forth from the present to the past but the author did it so cleverly that it was almost seamless. The only sentence that took me completely out of the story was at the beginning, on page 14, where she wrote "...the party they'd had had lasted all night". I had to read it over at least 5 times and still can't get it out of my head because I don't think I've ever read a sentence with 3 'had's in a row!! Crazy.

This book is absolutely amazing! It’s so real and upsetting in the best ways. At times it was definitely hard to read but very worth it! I highly recommend but be prepared for some trigger warnings! It can be rough at times!

While reading this book I became a bit confused with the time frame as it switches from 2003 to 2008 with the same character but she is different and has changed her name so it reads as 2 POVs but it's only one! This book is very graphic and has trigger warnings for sexual abuse, domestic abuse, stalking, cutting, self harm, rape! If you are triggered then I suggest not reading this one! The characters are very flushed out. While reading you see how things can change very drastically. The main character Cathy suffers from OCD in 2008 and you learn that it was caused by her past. In 2003 you meet a man named Lee. He starts out great but his personality goes slowly dark and twisted! The author had me scared of Lee and hating him by the end of the book. It's so sad that this could actually happen and woman can't escape the pain and torture of these men! I will be checking out more of this authors books.

This was an intense book. I, about halfway through, had a nervous pit in my stomach while reading it but couldn't put it down. I love that I couldn't predict how it would end, that I was in suspense until the last page. The first quarter of the book was a slow start for me and I was trying to rush through the long descriptions of the OCD stuff but it did pick up and I'm glad I stuck with the book. A great, white knuckled, nervous stomach read.

I would have given this book five stars, but I kept waiting for some fantastic twist that never seemed to happen. It is a well written and well paced story. I never wanted to put it down and found myself always wanting to read just one more chapter. They were really short chapters after all! I did enjoy it and would highly recommend it.

I couldn't stop reading. This is was horrifying, dark, mysterious, yet so good. A very eerie, psychological thriller.

Creepy and good! And disturbing! The book doesn't have "chapters" so at first I figured that would annoy me, and I got confused at first. The book follows 1 woman in 2 different years and progresses about the same through each--as in if the section is December 8, 2003 the next section is going to be somewhere around December 8, but in 2007. It was really well-written I thought and kept me flipping pages! I would definitely recommend this book if you like anything remotely creepy, disturbing, or suspenseful!

Another book I don't quite understand of why it has such a high rating on goodreads.
