I first read this book years ago and I recently got the entire Trek Mi Q'an series. I remembered I liked this book but except for Kyra being abducted and wed by a gigantic alien warrior and carried off to his planet I couldn't remember much else of the story line. I figured I would re-read this book before moving on in the series and I am glad I did. I can't believe I forgot about some of the things that went down in this story! Pretty much everything in Tryston revolves around pleasure and this book did not lack at all in that department. Kyra gradually becomes accustomed to the ways of her new people and even though there are plenty of moments where she doesn't understand she still manages to rise to the occasion. Toss in some insurrectionists that want to kill Kyra and stir to add some suspense to the book. I know people won't like all the wild and crazy that this book throws at you but there are also plenty of people like me who will enjoy the crazy things that happen in this book.

Ok...I like the world building a lot BUT the feminist in me is raging. I understand that everything and everyone aren't as much of a feminist as me but come the fuck on! Kyra pissed me off so much. She's allowing some alien dude to oppress her in so many ways but then had the nerve to say "the feminist in her" was upset by the fact that on this alien dude's planet women only existed to pleasure males and have their babies WHILE happily doing exactly those things! Seriously...fuck right off, Kyra. Fuck right off. *eyeroll* One star for this bullshit, two stars for the world building.

Quick, fun read! Not a whole lot of depth but an engaging read with great sex and likeable characters. The characters--both the main and secondary ones--were well developed and I was invested in their story. The world building was intriguing, and I wish Black had spent a little more time delving into the universe and its stories which, though only peeked at, I absolutely wanted to know more about. But I suppose if I wanted more political intrigue and wilderness adventures, and less sex, I was reading the wrong genre :).
