This excellent graphic novel really makes you think about your waste and consumption in general. Well done!

This book was so much more than I was expecting! Trashed is Jam-packed with incredibly interesting and horrifically devastating facts about the the nation's garbage output and the damage it's doing to our environment. In between these facts are the lives of a group of young garbageman and their day-to-day duties lugging trash, beautifully illustrated and written by Derf Backderf. I laughed often. For sure this book will make you run to your backyard to build a compost heap. I recommend this book for anyone interested in learning about our throwaway culture, anyone who loves graphic novels, and anyone who needs to be reminded that their job isn't that bad, that it could always be worse.

I found this book to be both entertaining and informative. The things we all don't know about trash collection is fascinating. I already saw a few of those pipes around. That's wild. Loved the read.

It's always hard to follow-up a hit. His first book since My Friend Dahmer is a bit of a disappointment. If you want to read a long graphic novel that follows the awful life of garbagemen, while also learning a bunch of really disheartening facts about trash, this book's for you! But, seriously, I love Derf's art and I got a little out of this book, but I also skimmed through a lot of it.
