Enjoyed this way more than I expected to. It has its flaws, but overall I had a good time reading it and loved most of the characters and conversations.

This book wasn't really for me. I think it's because the tone leans toward the younger end of the YA spectrum. The synopsis sounded really interesting and I'm always up for dragons, I mean wyverns. I never meshed with Sky, something about her just kept rubbing me the wrong way. I loved the side characters though. Maximus was so much fun and Gabriella was probably my favorite character of the whole book.
By far my biggest pet peeve of the book was this really weird dichotomy where it’s somehow trying to convince us that dragons have been part of society for a really long time and thanks to PR humans have mostly become accustomed to them. However, they are also somehow treated like celebrities. I know they tried to explain this in the early chapters but it didn’t really satisfy me. Just for whatever reason, there are humans obsessed with wyverns who run their own tabloids and basically stalk these random families who happen to breathe fire? If we ignore the whole trained since they were young to pick locks and work security systems for their eventual heists the wyverns are raised like regular people. They go to school, they have hobbies, you’d think after literal centuries of them being on our world they wouldn’t be treated so differently. I don’t know, it’s just something that really bugs me and every time the celebrity type thing popped up I got twitchy.
I will also say no real spoilers but I found the end so cheesy. I enjoyed Durst's Queens of Renthia books but this one just really ended up being not to my taste. That said there are some really funny lines that made me actually laugh out loud. There's also lots of fun pop culture references to things like Harry Potter and The Princess Bride.

Alright, so this is a YA book that has MG feels because the plot is fairly simple. In this world, wyverns live among humans, and with the wyvern blood so diluted, they appear normal.. although they're much richer and popular. They just didn't want the humans know that all wyverns are thief.
The Hawkins, Sky's family, used to be among them, but several weeks ago, Sky's mom went missing and the Wyvern councils decided to shun them for her mistake. Now they only have half of their wealth left, her Dad keeping things from her, and her brothers are stressed. Sky's ex, Ryan, deliver one way to fix things, by doing what Sky's mom wanted to do before she had gone. Stealing a jewel from Ryan family's vault. For that, Sky has to organize her first and most important heist.
Sky had help from Gabriela, a school friend that she probably won't ever talk to before all her wyvern friends abandoned her. Gabriela love research, excitable, and probably the most adorable character on this book.
After collecting her crews and doing her mission: impossible, Sky found a secret that was kept even from the Council and could change their world forever.... *cue music*
No, it's not an infinity stone but it does have mysterious power.
Halfway through the plots, real magic and dragons showed up and it changed the tone of the story. I think it will throw off some readers but don't fret. This book is a standalone that doesn't try to fix all the issues in the world.
Relationships, between families or lovers or friends, are handled nicely. The romance is there but doesn't make me bored. The story ends with happy ever after by underlining that the most important thing is keeping loved ones together.

Needed a book for a challenge for fantasy/sci-fi and this sounded good. I liked the concept of the heist even though it wasnt explained very well. This book was choppy and for someone not familar with genre hard to follow at times. I did enjoy reading the transformation into a dragon and learning how to be a dragon. the rest of the book was very fragmeneted and too many plots without anything connecting them.

I don't really have an opinion on this. It was in my Fairyloot edition, otherwise I would have never heard of it. I just skimmed through it to get over it. Average YA fantasy with some witty language.

Enjoyable and well written. The main character, Sky, is a brilliant and snarky narrator.
I really enjoyed this book.
It isn’t grim-dark like too much fantasy feels the need to be these days but it’s serious enough that you understand the stakes.
Plot moves quickly and covers a lot of ground but I’m kinda glad it didn’t drag things out.
Would have loved some more exploration of a location or two but overall I enjoyed it!
(If, like me, the cover isn’t your thing, don’t let it dissuade you from giving this book a go!)

A nice, easy and quick read! Finally a Standalone book, that doesnt evolve into a trilogy, as seems to be the standard nowadays.
In some parts it might have felt rushed, and the "twists" predictable, but theres nothing inherently wrong with that. The story arcs could have been prolonged so it fits into more than one book jut it was ok the way it was.
I still dont like the protagonist very much, but the story was still compelling and interesting! Only 4 stars bc of first-person-pov.

A really quick and fun story about the importance of family and friendship, mixed in with dragons, lots of theft and a heist. I think I would have enjoyed this a lot more a few years ago - it is definitely written pretty juvenile and naive through most parts, so it might be more appropriate for younger readers. Still a fun read!

I knew that this book had to be good simply because of how fun it sounded but what I got was Ally Carter with dragons, unicorns and other worlds.
It's a short read and a very light one too so if you're looking for serious dragons then look elsewhere. But it has a good cast of characters and some really interesting world building and lore.
I really enjoyed it.
