I love Craig Johnson as an author. Like all the rest of the Longmire books I have read, this one was great. I'm reading these slowly, so the series will last longer.

Good mystery of the week with Longmire and the crew from the Absoroka County Sherriff's department.

As readable as the Longmire mysteries are, I'm over Johnson's objectification of women. I think I'll try one more book.

read the first few pages and it had an absolutely awful portrayal of women. I regret buying it and I don't feel like trying to get further. Thank goodness I got it in the $2 clearance section and didn't waste a lot of money on it.

Solid western-style sequel about the tough sherif of Absarooka County and the people around him. The mystery is good, the cast is well-written, the evil is commonplace and still bone chilling, and the scene is set so well that despite reading this in the summer heat of Arizona, I felt like I was right there on the snowy plains of Wyoming.

Book 2 of Sheriff Walt Longmire series. Well written; beautiful setting; witty snarky banter between characters; great side characters. Two drawbacks: the description of the crime from the past was more graphic than I wanted to know about (but that’s just my personal taste and was easy enough to skip through) and, since I listened to the audiobook, I had trouble keeping two side characters (Joe and Leo) separate.
