I’d like to try and return to this series to finish it at some time, but I just can’t get through this one right now.

Excellent.  Tense throughout.  Painful to read in a good way.  The value of status trumping the cost of life.  Dark.  Loved it

Not my favorite of le Carré’s Smiley novels, which seems to be keeping with the popular sentiment when the book was released.  A slow and, at times, boring exploration of the life of an old and out of shape spy trying to remember how to work a radio set.
