This is a wonderful book about Welsh traditions and very needed, given that it doesn't seem do be well known that a lot of arthurian myths have been influenced by Welsh mythology. Mhara Starling introduces herself with a short autobiography and goes on telling us about Welsh rites around the year, rituals and uses of plants and trees native to her land. One can easily apply a lot of rites even outside Wales and if one lives somewhere were the vegetation is similar it can be used as a green-witchcraft guidebook. The spells and rituals are quite outdoorsy. I listened to this as an audiobook and I really loved how I was able to hear the Welsh words pronounced.

Maybe a bit vague for what I was looking for. I was more interested in the Welsh history and Folklore than I was in the practice of witchcraft, so a problem of personal choice not writing.
I do love the authors voice. It's very much her own, so personal, confident, and welcoming.

I learned so much from this book! I felt the passion Starling had for writing the book and sharing the knowledge from the moment I began reading. She did wonderfully in weaving lore and craft.. It warmed my heart to learn about my ancestors.
Thank you NetGalley for the read.

I rlly liked this book - thought it was interesting & wove her own experiences in really well. I’m excited for this to live underneath my altar, and look forward to returning to the exercises included xx did think there was bits that the editor deffo could have taken out - lot's of repeating herself especially at the beginning

Great introduction to Welsh witchcraft and folklore. There's just a little bit of everything in here, and the author encourages you to look outside this book for more information. It's evident how passionate Mhara is about sharing the culture of Wales, both in this book and in her online content. I appreciated the debunking of common witchcraft & pagan misconceptions and the forward-thinking attitude displayed throughout the entire book.
