This is the second book in the Billionaire Bosses series and I enjoyed it just as much as the first one. This is Nash and Nixie's story he is a self-made millionaire and boxer he comes to her rescue when she is attacked in an alley, after she passes out he takes her home when she wakes up she scared and want to get away from him.I really enjoyed getting to know these two I did not really like Nash as first he came across really cold and controlling but he did grow on me the more I got to know him.A super read I really enjoyed it

I enjoyed this one a whole lot more than the first book, though I did enjoy seeing Tristan and Reina reappear to see how their happily-ever-after is going.
I went into this book thinking that the two main characters, Nash and Nixie, were going to be like all those other romance novels where the main characters discuss a marriage of convenience for whatever reason, and then over the course of the story, they slowly end up falling love and the marriage becomes more "real."
I'm glad that this isn't that book. The marriage doesn't even come up until about three-quarters of the way into the book, and it was a third-party suggestion. I won't say more on that due to spoilers, but I will say that, should Tara Leigh write a third book in this series, I feel like I know who will get their story told next...
My only qualm, though, was Nixie and her inability to stand up for herself. Throughout the book, she's telling us that she doesn't need anyone to save her, that she can take care of herself, but her actions said otherwise. Even when her inner dialogue says that her "damsel in distress" days are going to end, it's anticlimactic, because she never actually does anything to stand up for herself.
I did love how Nash went from being an arrogantly cocky bastard on Wall Street, to someone who's no longer afraid to find love again, and I actually did love Nash and Nixie together, I just hated her characterization, but still enjoyed the story, which is why I gave it four stars.
This may be technically a sequel, it reads as a standalone, although you will get a brief spoiler alert for how the first story turns out, so read at your own risk, I guess.
I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is Book #2 in the Billionaire Bosses series. I did not read Book #1. I have not read anything from this author. From the first page, I was taken into the book and wasn't released until the last page. I could see Nixie being followed and Nash helping her out. Nixie is running from her past and has been looking over her shoulders for some time, but the one time she didn't Nash was there to help her.
I want to read Book #1. I would love to see the Billionaire boss being a woman! Just throwing that out there!!

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This is the first book I have ever read by Tara Leigh and I have to say I am a huge fan now! The concept alone had me gripping my ereader begging to know more about Nixie and Nash as they navigate everything that gets thrown at them. The fierce alpha in Nash and the sass of Nixie class from the start and their banter had me giggling the whole time. Seeing them fight their chemistry was fun too. Though I have to say, Eva is a cow. That is all I am gonna say on that one!
Overall, I really enjoyed this story. There was enough swoon worthy moments with a lot of action and intrigue to keep you on your toes and makes you want to devour each word. If you have not picked up this one or anything else by Leigh, I would highly recommend it. She has a beautiful way with words!

Although Deal Breaker is the second book in Tara Leigh’s Billionaire Bosses series, it works perfectly fine as a standalone novel. As a standalone novel is how I read this one, although I am now interested in giving Penthouse Player a read. We got a small insight into the lives of Reina and Tristan, the characters from the first book, and I’m super curious to know their story. It was only a few chapters that the characters appeared, but it was enough to leave me intrigued – especially with how much I enjoyed Deal Breaker.
In all honesty, I was a wee bit tentative when I started this one. The beginning of the book had me fearing a cliché. Down on luck female is in a sticky situation, saved by near perfect billionaire. It’s been done before. As much as I enjoy such reads, I always fear I’m close to reaching my limit – fearful nothing new can be added. Fortunately, it took very little to pull me into this story, to show the book was very much worth reading.
Both Nixie and Nash were wonderful characters, and I found myself loving them both so much. They were such entertaining characters, and the chemistry between the two of them was fabulous. Both came with baggage, with drama, and it made for many wonderful scenes. Some things were a bit on the predictable side, having been done before, but there was plenty to make this book unique. Whilst I did enjoy plenty of the events, my love for both of the characters is what won me over the most.
It’s not just our main characters who are a lot of fun, though. The entire cast was great. I feel in love with many of the characters throughout the story – and even those I didn’t come to love, I still had strong feelings towards. Without a doubt, the characters of this story really came to life. There was so much to everyone, and I enjoyed getting to know them all as the story played out in the many wonderful ways.
My only disappointment was with the ending. I was so invested in the story, so much happened, that I felt as though the ending was rather rushed. Things happened too quickly, it felt like a bit of an easy way out. I enjoyed the way some things came together, but I was not as invested in the ending as I had hoped to be. I wanted something a bit more explosive, I wanted my heartstrings to be pulled to the point of no return. Instead, I was given an ending that failed to impact me as much as the earlier part of the book.
Overall, though, I really enjoyed this one. I’ll certainly be reading more Tara Leigh in the future, especially the prior Billionaire Bosses book.

Nixie and Nash are opposites and yet they are the same. Both are a little disillusioned by life, both doubt the motives of the people around them, and this brings them together and gives them an attraction and a relationship that is actually oddly solid.
There were parts of this book that I really liked and parts of the book that didn't totally work for me. I thought there were places where I was not totally able to buy into the things that were happening in the story.
Maybe I am a little frustrated with the "marriage of necessity" trope, although I usually like it, but in this one, I was not a fan. I guess I just never bought into the "necessity" of the marriage and I didn't like that it felt deceitful.
I did enjoy it mostly, but there were parts of this one that didn't exactly work for me.

3.5 “Anything for another chance” stars!!
Nixie Rowland was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Completely unaware of her surroundings, she turned down an alley and was followed in by two thugs. Lucky for her, a knight in shining armor caught the action about to happen and saved the day. Nash Knight rescued the damsel-in-distress who ended up injured and brought her to his home to recover. He didn’t expect to love seeing her in his space, a space he never shared with anyone. And that’s just the beginning…
Nixie has only known loss. She lost her family in 9-11 and now the man she thought was the love of her life turned out to be someone else. She’s not interested in another relationship. She’s just trying to keep her head above water and hiding from one who wants more from her than she’s willing to give. Nash doesn’t know anything about relationships and doesn’t care. His true loves are his work and his brother’s twins. After losing his brother to the war, his perspective on life changed. Who needed love? But meeting Nixie throws his whole life out-of-whack. For these two, most resistant to love, it couldn’t have hit them harder.
Tara Leigh did a fantastic job of illustrating the push and pull between Nash and Nixie. Their chemistry was undeniable but the fight that Nash had on his hands to earn a chance with her was hard to handle. While I was frustrated like crazy with Nixie, I was rooting right until the end for Nash. In the end, this manwhoring billionaire found his heart and became a swoon-worthy hero and that’s a win in my book.

I received a copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley.
Nixie, lost in an unfamiliar part of Manhattan, is rescued by Nash, who sees two men follow her into a dark alley. It turns out that Nixie is hiding from her ex-bofriend, but is unwilling to accept any assistance from Nash, despite his persistence and vast resources.
I enjoyed the early text conversations between Nash and Nixie, where she repeatedly turns him down, but after that, I struggled a bit, both with the plot and the characterization. Both Nixie and Nash behaved in ways that were contradictory, and they never had a straight conversation with each other. They spent too much time being carried along by circumstances or just plain dithering, despite the fact that Nash is supposed to be some corporate wizard and Nixie claims to be able to look after herself.
Nixie doesn't need Nash to be her knight in shining armour, except that he does save her after she is knifed, and she agrees to move into his hotel suite, allows him to have her locks changed and security in her apartment block upgraded, allows his driver to take her everywhere, and allows the hotel staff to walk her dog. Nixie is not afraid of Derrick, except that actually she is afraid of him and he successfully forces her to do all sorts of things. Nash will never love again or get married because Eva betrayed him with his own brother, except that maybe Nash will marry Eva and help her raise her children. Nash never allows a woman to sleep at his apartment, except that he brings Nixie there, except later she has to sleep at the hotel.
Low points for me:
The marriage of convenience hatched by Eva (into which Nixie and Nash seem happy to sleepwalk) so Nixie and Nash can marry, divorce, and Eva can then marry Nash.
The fact that it turns out Derrick doesn't have any gambling debts because his father has been secretly paying them.
Nash's comment:
"Over the years, I'd realized it wasn't a good idea to work closely with attractive women. They usually wanted to be the future Mrs Knight much more than a current colleague. They were a distraction, and inefficient."
