Needless to say this duology has become one of my favourites. In this swashbuckling and romantic sequel to the Ever King, the story of Livia and Erik continues. The last we say of our characters things we’re in turmoil but is that not the case at the end of a book that leaves us with a cliffhanger.

The Ever seas are once again a backdrop to our story and it is a wonderful world that Andrews has built from the Royal City to the small islands and coves that scatter across the Ever. The pirates and swoonworthy villainy on the high seas kept me engaged from the first page, and the romance had my heart just melting. Livia and Erik, The Songbird and The Snake, are truly a wonderful couple to read especially if you love the villain softening because of the influence of a woman he has fallen deeply and maddeningly in love with. Their moments together were heartfelt and tender and I just adored reading their scenes and the more intimate moments were perfectly balanced and hot.

The secondary characters were a wonderful addition and I want a book for each of them. They are all well flushed out enough that they feel like their own characters, sometimes authors don’t put that effort into their secondaries and the book falls flat. They really added to the main characters and the plot and brought levity and laughter. More than once interactions with them all had me chuckling out loud.

Andrews has brought me back into my pirate era and I thank her for it. I can’t wait for the release so you scallywags can grab a copy for yourself or even pick up the first book The Ever King so you can read The Ever Queen. If pirates, fae, romance and a really great time are things your looking for than look no further and pick up this great duology and fall in love with the Ever Seas, and Erik and Livia’s story.

The Ever Queen picks up right where The Ever King leaves off. It is fact paced, action paced, and absolutely mesmerizing. Erik Blood singer is one of my favorite MMC's of all times. He is ruthless and isn't afraid to do what needs to be done, but at the heart of it all he loves the family that he made for himself, and he would burn the world for Livia. This book proves 100% that Livia is worthy of the title of the First Ever Queen. She is determined to protect the Ever, to not give in to her captures, and to return to her Serpent. I absolutely adored every single second of reading this book. It has a little dark content that some may not like, but I enjoyed every second.

Not a fan of the destined mate trope. Fans of Throne of Glass will enjoy this. Just not for me, personally.
