I wish this book was a little more instructive, instead of including about a thousand vignettes with interviewees, like Sue is a district attorney...Janet is an architect...Noreen is set designer...Paula is an orchestral violinist... blah, blah, blah. At the end of the day, I wanted to know more about how to OVERCOME the gender divide, and not be bashed over the head for the millionth time about how, YES, it sucks to be a woman in a competitive work environment. GIVE ME TOOLS NOT STATS.

In 2022, this book feels too dated to be particularly useful. The anecdotes and studies were also very redundant and made for a slow read.

A thorough discussion of the reasons why women have trouble with negotiation. This book would be particularly valuable for women who might not have a lot of experience/understanding in this area.

I'm about a third of the way through. Interesting and thought provoking, but I feel like most of the book was in the intro and the first chapter. It's too repetitive and I'm not learning enough new to keep going, I don't think.

Recommended for all the ladies. Good until the very last section. I understood the point the authors wanted to make, but it was extreme & seemed out of left field.

DNF, felt I’d been exposed to all this information in various forms in the past. Also felt too academic for my liking. BUT very useful and applicable info!

Unnecessary and moderately offensive epilogue aside, this book ties a large number of studies together in a compelling and (for me) relatable way.

It’s sad that some issues in this book still remain these days although most data and anecdotes were from the 2000s and the 2010s.
Especially, when it comes to how many women suffer from the imposter syndrome, I was shocked since I felt and thought in the same way once in the past.
