A literary book that explores female friendship, the mother/daughter relationship, love, loyalty, and forgiveness.

This was well written with a melancholy tone, but the plot felt unremarkable to me. This is one of those books where you can’t say much without spoiling a major plot point, so I’ll leave it at I liked the book, but it very much felt like something I’ve already read in other similar books.

My thanks to NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing for a complimentary copy of this eBook, out now.

I can’t believe I even finished this, I skimmed probably the last 1/3 of it. I just didn’t care for any of the characters, and I felt like there was one plot point that remotely took me by surprise. Other than that…predictable and felt slightly pointless. 🫢😬

I'm not sure what I was expecting and I'm pretty sure it is just the mood I"m in but I am not invested in these characters even at 100 pages in.

I was charmed by this book. A story about grief, friendship, family, relationships. There is also a subtle message about self-care, confidence, letting go and responsibility (it's not always yours). I read this book to fit a prompt for a reading challenge and am so glad that I found it.
