Somehow this ended both shockingly and incredibly satisfyingly. The ending, I will say, was a 5 star ending. But the middle was mediocre and I was definitely contemplating picking up a more entertaining book. It did pick up speed but it took a hot minute. I just honestly don’t have the patience for slow pace right now. Since it was relatively short though, I bared it.

I love Emma Castle/Lauren Smith. And I read book 2 of that series first and had absolutely loved it. But boy this one was really disappointing.
It started off good but then it was super stagnant. And it was very difficult to enjoy the “romance” when Lucifer kept threatening to kill Diana’s father if she so much as speak to another man. Yikes.
I would still 1000% recommend book 2 and just skip this one.
The narrator is one of my favs. His voice is so velvety and sexy. *swoon*

What a great read. It started off much like the TV show Lucifer minus the crime solving. By the end I was in tears, happy tears. I’m an emotional reader lol. The spice level was medium, just the right level. Ya know for a deal made with the devil. I definitely recommend this one.

I don't star books I don't finish because I just don't think that's fair.
Like other reviewers, I was excited to read this because I like the tv-series "Lucifer". The twist here is that he needs to corrupt a "good" soul to keep the gates of hell locked and he plans corruption by seduction. She wants her dad saved from terminal illness. Seems like a story that would tug on the heart as well as the libido, right?
The writing kept me from getting into the book far enough to start the seduction. The style was rushed and repetitive - more like an early YA (in my opinion) than the romance/erotica it's supposed to be. No real flow structure wise, and stock characters that readers don't have the opportunity to connect with. I didn't find him seductive. It is hinted that she has depth - love of family, reasons for being "good" - but the writing didn't let us in to explore that.
Fun concept, but overall I just couldn't get into it.

3.7 stars. This was both hot and intense. I did enjoy that the main love intresset was "bad to the bone" but still enjoyable to read about. However the fact he was the devil, Lucifer in all his glory, did in all honesty make me a bit uncomfortable. I'm not very religious but it feelt a bit too wrong. But because it was written by Emma Castle it's its still one of a hell kind of book haha
